Qualcomm starts consortium for untethered trailer tracking

Qualcomm Inc. today announced it has created a consortium to further the development of its untethered trailer asset management system for the transportation and logistics industry, and that truckload carrier Schneider National Inc. has joined the consortium as its founding member. Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions president Chris Wolfe said that the group will allow carriers using its trailer tracking technology to provide insight and guidance to help lead product direction, and ensure that development phases meet the needs of the industry.
