General Motors' Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, as well as the Hummer H3 SUV, will get new, larger-displacement inline 4- and 5-cyl. engines in 2007. The Vortec 2.9L DOHC 4-cyl. with variable valve timing (VVT) delivers 185 hp. and 190 lb.-ft. of torque; it replaces the 2.8L 4-cyl. The Vortec 3.7L DOHC 5-cyl. with VVT is rated at 242 hp., 242 lb.-ft. of torque; it replaces the 3.5L.
