Spoken navigation for Java phones

Nextel handsets with GPS capability can give truck drivers turn-by-turn, truck-specific directions with a new service from ALK Technologies. The new PC*Miler|Mobile service runs on a variety of Nextel's Motorola handsets, including its i58, i88, i605 and i860 phones. In addition to monitoring height restrictions, the service can provide hazardous materials and 53-ft. trailer routes. Directions are automatically recalculated if a turn is missed. Destinations can be entered manually on the handset by the driver or preloaded by dispatch.
