Built on the remains of long-bankrupt trailer maker HPA Monon, Vanguard National Trailer Corp. is rolling out products as it ramps up efforts to widen its offerings of dry van units to the trucking industry. New from Vanguard is the 53-ft., 101-in. interior width VIP MaxiCube. The MaxiCube has a specially designed sidewall structure to give it additional cube capacity, as well as smooth, no-snag walls and a proprietary post design for increased rigidity, said Richard Dessimoz, the company's president.
