FMCSA wants to know

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is requesting comments on new ideas and procedures for developing more performance-based safety inspections for commercial vehicles. (See the Federal Register, August 16, 2003 — FMCSA-2005-22097.) The agency is particularly interested in information about advanced sensor and on-board diagnostics, as well as wireless communications. This request for comments is part of FMCSA's Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 initiative, which is looking at ways to most effectively manage programs that improve motor carrier safety.
