New York funding for alternative-fuel technology

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) have announced $6 million in funds will be available to help private and not-for-profit fleets that operate in New York City purchase vehicles with alternative fuels or advanced technologies. Integrating alternative fuel and emissions controls into the vehicles will reduce greenhouse gases and dependence on imported petroleum, according to the New York City Private Fleet Alternative Fuel/Electric Vehicle Program, a state and local partnership between NYSERDA and NYC DOT.
