HURRICANE IMPACT: I-10 Twin Spans Bridge reopens

Two lanes of traffic along the I-10 Twin Spans Bridge between New Orleans and Slidell, LA, are moving again, 47 days after Hurricane Katrina damaged the structure. The eastbound span of the Twin Spans Bridge has been reopened and is handling two-way traffic until the westbound span is completed. The westbound span is expected to reopen Jan. 16, 2006. Boh Brothers Construction in New Orleans won the $31-million bridge repair contract.
