KATRINA UPDATE: Diesel drops 5.1 cents to $2.847

The national average price for a gallon of diesel last week retreated 5.1 cents to $2.847. This came as news that much of the refining and oil infrastructure along the Gulf Coast will recover sooner than expected from the disruptions caused by Hurricane Katrina.
